60 miles of glorious, off-road riding in and around Birmingham and the Black Country.
DISTANCE: 60 Miles
DURATION: 10 Hours
LEVEL: Expert. This is a long ride. You will need to be used to a long day in the saddle regularly riding 40-50 miles and preferably have been on previous BAC rides.
Starting and ending in Brindley place the route will include: Birmingham Mainline canal, netherton tunnel (bring lights), Dudley Canal, Stourbridge Canal, Kingswinford Railway, Staffs & Worcester Canal, Wyrley & Essington Canal, McClean Way, Rushall Canal, Tame Valley Canal and finally the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal.
Surfaces will vary from gravel & paved in and near the towns to muddy ruts and narrow grass verges as we leave the conurbation behind. The end of the Wyrley & Essington Canal can be particularly rough.
Long days outdoors riding off road, cross country and unfamiliar routes is physically and mentally demanding. Please be aware that a ride of this nature will stress your body beyond your regular riding routine. Don’t over estimate your abilities.
On this ride you will need to to carry your bike and gear to navigate steps and gates.
