Project NC500

Cycling Scotlands North Coast 500

Due to Lockdown & the ongoing pandemic in we have put this trip on hold. The logistics of travel to and from Scotland plus booking accomodation during 2021 are proving difficult due to the level of uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 and pressure on the popularity of the route.

The Plan

The plan is to cycle 516 miles around the North Coast 500. Starting and ending at Inverness Castle. The NC500 is Scotlands very own Route 66 and one of the top 5 coastal routes in the world.

It was developed in 2015 by the North Highland Initiative Tourism Project Board as a driving route. Polpularised as a cycling challenge by Mark Beaumont and the Adventure Syndicate.

We aren’t endurace athletes. We aren’t even athletes. We are just people who love an adventure and a challenge.

We hope to complete the route in 8 to 10 days.
